A Brief History
1981 - site acquired for local amateur football facilities
1983 - clubhouse building brought to the site
1983 - Charity status achieved for the Eastwoodbury Lane Centre
1993 - site area and facilities reduced by construction of Nestuda Way.
2000 - facilities upgraded with new and refurbished changing rooms, and new spectator stands.
2003 - Len Forge retired from active management of the Centre.

Our Vision for the Future
To build on, and develop, the original concept for the site, with more pitches and training facilities, for a wider range of players - and a new clubhouse complex.
Additional facilities for youth and ladies football can be made available if the site can be expanded onto adjacent agricultural land.
A modern buildings complex can be purpose designed for existing and additional sports and social uses - and secure the financial viability of the Centre

Clients - Football
As the historical centre for adult amateur football in Southend,
the Centre is used extensively by:
Southend Borough Football Combination League
Southend Borough Football Combination Veterans League and
Southend Sunday League

for official and social events as well as their playing activities
(cup finals and tournaments)

Resident Clubs (2009-10 season)

Southend Radio Control Car Club (SRCCC)
Race meetings are organised every Sunday from 9am to 5pm (or dusk) on a dedicated tarmac track.
Eastwood Community Pre-School (EWCP-S)
Child care and educational facility available 9.30am to 12pm each weekday during school term time.
Mothers Night Out (MNO)
A social group for mature ladies. Meets Thursday evenings from 7pm
Southend Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
Use of the car park by staff based at Britannia House, and the meeting rooms for training programmes and specific meetings.
Southend Hospital NHS Retirement Fellowship
Social and administrative functions.
The Local Community
Family celebrations, social functions and special events.
